The Latino Cultural Center Thursday Series presents: La Peña

Come help us celebrate the mosaic of Latin American identity through folk music! The Latin American folk music group Mosaico blends the musical styles of many countries, such as Paraguay/Argentina, Nicaragua, Colombia, Peru, Mexico, and the United States. Their unique sound is created by fusing the flute and panpipe of the Andes Mountains, the congas, bongos, and cajón of the African-influenced coastal and Caribbean region, string instruments such as the mandolin, guitar, violin, and harp from Europe, and finally, the marimba from Mexico and Central America.

*Admission is FREE
*FREE appetizers for all UIC students and faculty with an I-card

The Latino Cultural Center Thursday Series was created to promote the
diversity of the Latino Culture through the dissemination of knowledge and
all forms of artistic expression. Music, dance, poetry, film, conversation,
